ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Smith scored the second and third goals of the night, with the first being on a breakway where she rounded the goalkeeper to find the back of the net. The second, though, was the U.S. international at her best.
A stupendous curling effort, Smith launched from a tight angle, beating the goalkeeper on her left foot in the 78th minute for the winner.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Just four minutes later, though, Weaver went down with a non-contact injury and had to be carried off by medical staff. The 26-year-old has been a mainstay in the Thorns lineup, and will be a massive loss if it's a serious injury.
Thorns interim head coach Rob Gale spoke post-game on the injury, but didn't have much to reveal, adding that he "didn't have the chance" to speak with medical staff before media duties.

WHAT NEXT FOR THE THORNS?
The Thorns will clash with Trinity Rodman and the Washington Spirit this coming weekend on May 4 in an East versus West Coast clash.
Smith will look to continue her hot form, with seven goal contributions in her last three games, against her USWNT teammate.
